Lt. Frey supervises Youth & Family Services, and General/Special Investigations. Before Investigations, Lt. Frey supervised and was a highly skilled member of the elite Motor Unit. He serves as SWAT Commander, using his tactical experience to ensure school safety. Lt. Frey also coordinates Peer Support for the entire department.
Sgt. Schaefer heads the Youth & Family Services team. She has been with CHPD since 2006 having previously worked in the Monterey County area. She has specialized in child and family violence for over 15 years and helped found the department’s award-winning Domestic Violence Response Team.
Juvenile Detective Battaglia leads the investigations on youth-related crimes and missing persons. She serves on the Police Activities Board and as a Coach. Detective Battaglia is also a senior member of the Honor Guard and head mentor for the Police Explorer Honor Guard.
Officer Chow started with the CHPD after several years in law enforcement in Virginia. He coordinates the Police Explorer and Pathways Programs, and serves as a Police Activities League Coach. In July, he will be returning to patrol, having been promoted to Police Corporal.
Officer Hancock worked in a local school district before her career in law enforcement. She handles incidents at the City’s elementary, middle, and high schools. Officer Hancock also trains Police Explorers and the Pathways Program Interns. She also helps plan activities for the Police Activities League.
